Suga Bush
Suga Bush was born on a warm summer night on the Lower East Side of NYC. The sound is an eclectic mix of funk, rock and soul pulsating behind lead singer Danni Gee's songstories of love, fantasy, betrayal, strength and life. Danni Gee, a native of Philadelphia and a former principal dancer with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, began navigating the music world in late 1998 when she joined Greg Tate's Medusa Oblongata.
Danni formed Suga Bush in the summer of 1999 and after producing several live and studio EPs, they released their first full-length studio CD, A Love Odyssey, in late 2005. Suga Bush's exposure continues to expand in exciting ways. They are popular fixtures on the New York music scene, playing regularly at well-known venues such as The Bitter End and the Blue Note. And, in the fall of 2010, Suga Bush joined forces with the digital record label Earthdriver. Org and released an updated version of their single Monster which will be included on their sophomore cd to be unveiled in the fall of 2011.
